Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls or hoagie buns
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • spoon For spreading marinara and topping cheese.

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1–1.5 inch meatballs using your hands or a scoop.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  4. Place meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Place cooked meatballs into sub rolls. Spoon marinara sauce over them and top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Return subs to the air fryer at 390°F (195°C) for 2–3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  7. Remove and serve hot. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes
