Ingredients

Cookie Ingredients
  • 1 cup White Sugar Sweetness and structure come from here; feel free to experiment with other sweeteners if needed.
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened) Adds richness and helps create that beautiful, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour The base of the cookie that provides structure and thickness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter-sugar mixture and fold it in until just combined, making sure not to overmix.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place each ball on a baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
  2. Press the tops of each ball gently with the back of a fork and optionally sprinkle a bit of sugar on top.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
  4. Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
