Ingredients

For the Chili Filling
  • 2 cups Chili Use homemade or store-bought; beef, turkey, or vegetarian options work well.
For the Crust
  • 1 package Pie Crust Store-bought for convenience or homemade for a personal touch.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese Cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend.
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash to brush on the crust for a golden finish.
Optional Toppings
  • Sour cream
  • Jalapeños
  • Cilantro

Method

Preparation
  1. If using homemade chili, make sure it’s cooked and ready. Let it cool slightly.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie crust to fit your air fryer basket. You can use a round cutter to make it fit perfectly.
Assembly
  1. Spread the chili evenly in the bottom of the air fryer basket.
  2. Generously sprinkle cheese over the chili.
  3. Place the rolled-out pie crust over the chili and cheese, pressing down the edges. Cut a few slits in the top for steam to escape.
  4. Brush the top of the crust with the beaten egg for a golden color.
Cooking
  1. Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

You can easily swap the chili filling for chicken, vegetables, or quinoa for a different twist. Adjust the chili seasoning based on your family's taste by adding more warmth with cayenne or keeping it mild.
