Ingredients

For the French Toast Sticks
  • 6 slices thick bread (Texas toast or brioche) Use slightly stale bread for the best texture.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Customize the sugar level based on preference.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Add a pinch of nutmeg for a spicier flavor.
  • a pinch salt
  • Cooking spray or a light drizzle of oil For air frying.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
  3. Slice each piece of bread into quarters, creating stick shapes.
Cooking
  1. Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, ensuring they’re well coated. Let any excess egg drip off.
  2. Spray the basket of the air fryer with cooking spray, then arrange the dipped sticks in a single layer. You may need to work in batches.
  3. Cook the sticks for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Once done, remove from the air fryer and serve hot with your favorite syrup or toppings.
