Ingredients

  • 1 jar dill pickles (slices or spears)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • cooking spray (for crispiness)

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • 3 shallow bowls
  • tongs
  • paper towels

Method

  1. Drain the pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps them get crispy!
  2. Set up 3 bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each pickle slice in flour, then egg, then coat in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture. Ensure full coverage.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange breaded pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Try sweet or spicy pickles for variety. Make it vegan with flax eggs and plant-based breadcrumbs. Freeze uncooked breaded pickles for quick future snacks.
