Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds baby or new potatoes small and tender are best
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter for extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or freshly minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the potatoes in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender but not falling apart.
  2. Drain the potatoes in a colander and let them cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. On a clean surface or cutting board, place the potatoes one at a time and gently smash them with the bottom of a cup or a potato masher until they’re flattened but still hold their shape.
Cooking
  1. Drizzle olive oil over the smashed potatoes. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly on top.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the smashed potatoes in the basket (work in batches if necessary) and cook for 10-12 minutes until crispy and golden.
Serving
  1. Once done, sprinkle with any optional toppings like cheese or chives before serving.
  2. Dig into your crispy, flavorful smashed potatoes and watch them disappear!

Notes
