Clams
  • 12 large large fresh clams (steamers or cherrystones) Make sure they are fresh and clean
Stuffing
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs For texture
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds richness
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For flavor
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped For freshness
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest For brightness
  • ½ teaspoon paprika Adds a hint of spice
  • Olive oil spray For crisping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the clams: Rinse under cold water and scrub the shells if needed.
  3. Steam the clams: In a pot, steam the clams for about 5-7 minutes or until they open. Discard any that remain closed.
Stuffing Preparation
  1. Prepare the stuffing: In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, lemon zest, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  2. Stuff the clams: Remove the clam meat from the shells, chop it, and mix it back with the stuffing. Spoon the mixture into each clam shell, pressing down lightly.
Cooking
  1. Air fry the clams: Place the stuffed clams in the air fryer basket in a single layer and lightly spray with olive oil. Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Serve: Carefully remove and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
