Ingredients

  • 6-8 corn tortillas
  • as needed cooking spray or oil
  • to taste seasoning (optional)

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • Taco holder or rack Helps shape tortillas during cooking
  • tongs For flipping and removing shells
  • Brush or spray bottle For applying oil or spray

Method

  1. Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and let it preheat for 5 minutes.
  2. Lightly coat both sides of the corn tortillas with cooking spray or a brush of oil.
  3. Gently drape the tortillas over the air fryer rack or taco holder if you have one. Make sure they don’t touch each other too much.
  4. Cook the tortillas in the air fryer for about 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Keep an eye on them to avoid over crisping.
  5. The shells should be golden brown and crispy. Add a minute or two if needed but avoid overcooking.
  6. Carefully remove the taco shells and let them cool for a minute before serving.
  7. Load up your crispy shells with your favorite fillings and toppings!

Notes

Store leftover taco shells in an airtight container; they’ll stay crispy for a few days. You can freeze uncooked tortillas and air fry them directly from frozen.
