- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and place them on the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper.
- With your thumb or the back of a spoon, gently press down in the center of each cookie to create an indent.
- Fill each thumbprint with about a teaspoon of fruit jam.
- Cook in the air fryer for about 8–10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow them to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Freeze unbaked cookie dough balls for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to restore softness.
