Ingredients

  • 2 fresh tuna steaks about 1-inch thick, sushi-grade recommended
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • optional fresh herbs parsley or dill, for garnish

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • tongs for flipping or removing the steaks
  • Instant-read thermometer to check internal temperature
  • mixing bowl for seasoning (optional)

Method

  1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice.
  3. Arrange the seasoned tuna steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket for even cooking.
  4. Air fry for 7–9 minutes depending on your desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for 125°F (52°C) internal temperature.
  5. Remove tuna steaks from the air fryer and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve hot with sides.
