Ingredients

For the filling
  • 6-8 medium Apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Provides a sweet-tart base; can be swapped with pears or seasonal fruits.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar Sweetens the apples while they bake; brown sugar can be used for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon Adds warmth and a classic flavor profile.
For the crumble topping
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Forms the base of the crumble; gluten-free flour can be substituted if desired.
  • 1 cup Old-fashioned oats Adds chewiness and texture; you can use quick oats if that’s what you have on hand.
  • 1/2 cup Butter (melted) Brings richness to the crumble topping; coconut oil is a fantastic dairy-free alternative.
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Balances the sweetness.
