Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 bag 1 bag of pretzels (around 16 oz) Choose your favorite shape; twists or rods work best for holding the toffee.
  • 1 cup 1 cup unsalted butter Adds richness; if you prefer a salted version, adjust the recipe to reduce added salt.
  • 1 cup 1 cup brown sugar Provides the classic caramel flavor; light or dark sugar can be used based on your preference.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A subtle kick that enhances sweetness; feel free to use almond extract for a nutty twist.
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon baking soda While not always traditional, it yields a lighter texture; don’t skip it if you’re looking for that perfect golden touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
  3. Once the butter has melted, add the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Stir until it starts to bubble gently.
  4. Carefully stir in the baking soda. The mixture will foam up momentarily for light texture.
  5. In a large bowl, pour the melted toffee over the pretzels and fold until every pretzel is coated.
  6. Spread the coated pretzels evenly across the lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet.
