Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour for structure and texture
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to help the cookies rise

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened richness and flavor
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar for sweetness and crunch
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar moisture and depth of flavor
  • 2 large eggs binding agent and moisture
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract adds a warm aroma and flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are set but still soft.
  3. Let them cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
