- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and continue to mix until it’s fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool before decorating.
Topping
- While the cookies cool, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies and immediately sprinkle your desired toppings on top.
- Let them set for about 30 minutes before serving.
