Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Making the Toffee
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together, stirring continuously until smooth and bubbly (about 5-7 minutes).
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
Coating the Pretzels
  1. Place the pretzels in a large bowl and pour the melted toffee over them. Gently toss until all pretzels are coated.
  2. Spread the coated pretzels on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the pretzels.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until pretzels are golden and toffee is bubbly. Watch closely to prevent burning.
