Preparation & Cooking
- In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, and sugar to a boil over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts completely.
- Reduce heat to low and add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and let cool for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well until fully incorporated.
- If frying, heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pot. If baking, preheat to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet.
- Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 1 to 2-inch pieces directly into the hot oil or onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. For baking, place in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Remove from oil or air fryer and immediately roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar to coat. Serve warm with Nutella.
