Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup water Acts as the base for the dough, creating steam to help the churros puff.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Adds richness and flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Forms the structure of the churro bites.
  • 2 large eggs Binds the dough and helps achieve the fluffy interior.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Enhances the churro flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds a fragrant note that complements the overall flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Provides warmth and enhances the sweetness.
  • Vegetable oil Vegetable oil For frying or a light coat if using an air fryer.
Dipping Sauce
  • 1 jar Nutella The luscious dipping sauce.
Coating
  • 1 cup sugar For cinnamon-sugar coating.
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For cinnamon-sugar coating.

Method
 

Preparation & Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, and sugar to a boil over medium heat. Stir until the butter melts completely.
  2. Reduce heat to low and add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well until fully incorporated.
  4. If frying, heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pot. If baking, preheat to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet.
  5. Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 1 to 2-inch pieces directly into the hot oil or onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. For baking, place in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  7. Remove from oil or air fryer and immediately roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar to coat. Serve warm with Nutella.

Notes
