Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F to 115°F)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cup melted butter (for brushing)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • kitchen towel
  • air fryer
  • basting brush

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  4. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into about 24 small pieces. Roll each piece into a small ball.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Arrange the pretzel bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. While the bites are still warm, brush them with melted butter and roll them in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
