  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or plain yogurt) Can substitute with milk and vinegar mix
For the coating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for spice preference
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, soak chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for extra tenderness).
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Set your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off, then dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  2. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then place breaded chicken breast in a single layer. Spray tops lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Cook at 380°F (190°C) for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken, spray again, and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Serving
  1. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
