Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F), sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In another bowl, stir together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg.
- Mix the ingredients until they form a rough dough. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Rolling and Filling
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it into a rectangle.
- Brush it with melted butter, sprinkle a generous layer of cinnamon sugar over it, and roll it tightly into a log.
- Slice the log into 12 even pieces. Take each piece and twist it slightly before placing it into a greased muffin tin.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- The aroma will fill your kitchen, and when you take them out, the crispy tops will give way to a soft, tender interior.
