Preparation
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until the mixture boils, then remove it from the heat.
- Add the flour all at once, stirring quickly with a wooden spoon until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan. The dough should be smooth and should not stick to your fingers.
- Let the dough cool for about five minutes, then add the eggs one at a time. Stir vigorously after each egg until fully integrated. The dough should become glossy.
- Fold in the cinnamon and vanilla extract until everything is well combined. Your dough should be thick yet pliable.
- Using a piping bag or a clean plastic bag with a corner snipped off, pipe small bite-sized circles (about 1 inch in diameter) onto a piece of parchment paper.
Cooking
- Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 3-5 minutes.
- Once preheated, carefully place the churro bites into the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch each other. Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
