Cooking Pasta
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add your choice of pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
Preparing the Sauce
- In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
Combining Ingredients
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sautéed garlic. Stir well to coat the pasta.
- Gradually sprinkle in the grated Parmesan while stirring, adding reserved pasta water until a creamy consistency is reached.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss together until well combined.
- Remove from heat and toss in freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
