Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Adds richness and creates a tender texture.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Sweetens the cookies and contributes to their chewy consistency.
  • 4 large eggs Acts as a binding agent and provides moisture.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor profile with a warm, sweet note.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Gives structure to the cookies without making them too dense.
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Provides that deep chocolate flavor that makes these cookies irresistible.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness and enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Adds wonderful melty pockets of chocolate in each cookie.

Method

Baking Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the dough, being careful not to break them.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cookies are set but still soft. Let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
