Preparation
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a dash of olive oil.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until it’s browned, about 5-7 minutes, and drain any excess fat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
- Season the mixture with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir together to ensure the flavors mingle.
- Lower the heat and place the provolone cheese slices over the beef and veggies. Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
- Slice your hoagie rolls open, leaving them intact on one side. Heap the cheesy beef mixture inside the rolls.
- Serve the cheesesteaks immediately while they’re warm and gooey.

Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet to retain flavor and texture. Can make ahead by preparing filling and storing in the refrigerator.
