  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced Yellow onions are preferable
  • 1 each Bell Pepper, red, sliced For color, can use any color
  • 1 each Bell Pepper, green, sliced For color, can use any color
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can also be used
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste Essential for enhancing flavors
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese Can substitute with mozzarella or cheddar
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls Consider whole grain for a healthier option

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a dash of olive oil.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until it’s browned, about 5-7 minutes, and drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
  4. Season the mixture with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir together to ensure the flavors mingle.
  5. Lower the heat and place the provolone cheese slices over the beef and veggies. Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
  6. Slice your hoagie rolls open, leaving them intact on one side. Heap the cheesy beef mixture inside the rolls.
  7. Serve the cheesesteaks immediately while they’re warm and gooey.

Notes
