Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by gathering all ingredients. Measure out 2 cups of bone broth, 2 tablespoons of gelatin, and your preferred sweetener.
  2. In a saucepan, gently heat the bone broth over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Gradually sprinkle the gelatin into the warm broth, whisking continuously to prevent clumps from forming. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Once the gelatin is dissolved, remove the pot from heat. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup, followed by 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  5. If using herbs like ginger or turmeric, add them at this point. Let the mixture steep for about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the mixture into a heat-safe glass or container, and let it cool to room temperature. After 10-15 minutes, refrigerate it until set.
  7. Once set, you can enjoy your tonic warm or cold. For a warm drink, reheat gently before serving.
