Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the ziti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the cottage cheese, half of the mozzarella, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well blended.
Layering and Baking
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Add half of the cooked ziti, followed by half of the cottage cheese mixture, then more marinara on top. Repeat the layering with the remaining ziti and cottage cheese mixture.
- Finish with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- After removing from the oven, let your baked ziti rest for about 10 minutes before diving in.
