Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar until smooth and creamy for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to shape the cookies.
  2. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
