Main Ingredients
  • 2 inches Fresh Ginger Peeled and sliced thinly.
  • 2 cups Water Used as the base of the drink.
  • 1/2 cup Lemon juice Adds flavor and vitamin C.
  • 1 teaspoon Honey Optional; can be substituted with stevia.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel a 2-inch piece of fresh ginger and slice it thinly.
  2. In a kettle or saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the sliced ginger and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Carefully strain the ginger slices from the water into a cup or teapot.
  5. Add the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey, if desired. Stir well.
  6. Serve hot or chill in the fridge before drinking.
Storage
  1. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat before drinking.
