Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Grease a baking pan and pour in the prepared cake batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cake to a wire rack and let it cool completely, which takes about 30 minutes.
Jello Preparation
- While the cake is cooling, boil 2 cups of water.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the Jello until fully dissolved, about 2 minutes.
Assembly
- Once the cake is completely cool, poke holes all over the top with a fork or toothpick.
- Pour the dissolved Jello mix evenly over the top of the poked cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- Allow it to sit at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes.
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the Jello set properly.
- Once chilled, slice the cake, serve it on nice plates, and enjoy!

Notes
Consider using sugar-free cake mix and Jello for a low-calorie version. You can also experiment with different flavors and add zest from citrus fruits for a refreshing twist.
