Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 sheets no-boil lasagna noodles Help achieve a fluffy texture without pre-cooking.
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey Can be substituted with ground chicken or a meat alternative.
  • 3 cups marinara sauce Adds flavor and moisture. Can use homemade or store-bought.
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese For a lighter option, use cottage cheese.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Essential for that gooey cheese pull.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese Feel free to use a dairy-free version.
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning Adjust to taste or omit if preferred.
  • to taste salt and pepper Helps balance flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
Layering & Baking
  1. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place four lasagna noodles on top, then layer one-third of the meat mixture, followed by half of the cheese mixture, and a cup of marinara sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and a final layer of marinara sauce topped with the remaining mozzarella.
  2. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  3. Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
Serving
  1. Bring the lasagna to the table and enjoy!

For a kid-friendly version, reduce spices and opt for a mild marinara sauce. You can also use fun-shaped pasta or mini portions to attract children's interest.
