Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients: You will need one or two fresh lemons, filtered water, and any optional herbs you wish to add.
  2. Wash the lemons thoroughly under cold water to remove any pesticides or dirt.
  3. Slice the lemons into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
Infusion
  1. Place the lemon slices in a pitcher or water bottle. If using herbs, add a few sprigs to enhance flavor.
  2. Pour in about 4 cups of cold or room-temperature water.
  3. Let the mixture sit for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to infuse.
  4. Serve in a glass and add ice if desired.
