  • 2 cups milk Provides calcium, protein, and essential nutrients. Can be substituted with almond milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin powder Acts as a gelling agent. Use vegetarian gelatin or agar-agar if preferred.
  • 1/4 cup cold water Used to bloom the gelatin.
  • to taste sweetener (sugar, honey, or stevia) Adjust to personal taste for natural sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional flavoring; can also use cocoa powder.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Assemble all the required ingredients and ensure you have a small saucepan and mixing bowls handy.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat 2 cups of milk over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil (about 5–7 minutes).
  3. In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder over 1/4 cup of cold water and allow it to bloom for about 5 minutes until it becomes jelly-like.
  4. Once the milk is ready, remove it from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
  5. Stir in your choice of sweetener and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (or other flavorings) and ensure everything is well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into dessert molds or individual serving dishes and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set. Once ready, serve chilled, possibly topped with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of cocoa.

Notes
