Preparation
- Assemble all the required ingredients and ensure you have a small saucepan and mixing bowls handy.
- In a small saucepan, heat 2 cups of milk over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil (about 5–7 minutes).
- In a separate bowl, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder over 1/4 cup of cold water and allow it to bloom for about 5 minutes until it becomes jelly-like.
- Once the milk is ready, remove it from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
- Stir in your choice of sweetener and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (or other flavorings) and ensure everything is well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into dessert molds or individual serving dishes and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set. Once ready, serve chilled, possibly topped with fresh fruit or a sprinkle of cocoa.
