Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and position the oven rack in the center.
- Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving enough to lift the bars out later.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- In a large bowl, stir the melted butter with the brown and granulated sugars until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract into the butter mixture and mix until glossy.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and smooth it out into an even layer.
Baking
- Bake for 26 to 30 minutes, or until lightly browned and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
