  • 1 cup Low-sodium chicken broth Provides moisture and enhances the chicken's flavor.
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme A pinch uplifts overall flavor with a warm herbal note.
  • Salt and pepper To taste, essential for balancing flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally until they start to turn soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Spray your baking dish with cooking spray or grease it lightly with butter.
  4. Spread the sautéed onions evenly across the bottom of the baking dish. Nestle the chicken thighs on top of the onions.
  5. In a bowl, mix the onion soup mix, chicken broth, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined and pour over the chicken and onions.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
