Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure your bars bake evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until a crumbly dough forms, then press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Once the crust is done baking and has cooled slightly, pour the pecan mixture over the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly jiggles in the center. Watch carefully to avoid over-baking.
- Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes. Then, transfer them to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set completely.
- Once chilled and firm, lift the bars out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper, slice them into squares, and enjoy!

Notes
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat. For added flavor, consider toasting the pecans before adding them to the filling.
