- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and any additional spices you prefer.
- Lower the heat, and stir in the cheese gradually until melted and well combined (about 1-2 minutes).
- Toast buns lightly if desired. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and cover with the top half.
- For extra crispy melts, return the assembled melts to the skillet for another minute or two.
- Slice down the middle for easy eating and serve.
