Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (or lamb, chicken, or turkey for a healthier option)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (consider using whole wheat for added fiber)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese for a cheesy flavor
  • 1 large egg binds everything together
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for aroma
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for freshness
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped adds that distinct Greek flavor
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano for added depth
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Olive oil spray for that crispy finish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
  2. Shape into balls, each about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a plate.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Arrange the meatballs in a single layer in the basket, making sure they’re not touching.
Cooking
  1. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they’re golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should be 165°F/74°C).
  2. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meat mixture to keep the meatballs tender. Adjust the spices to suit your taste—add red pepper flakes for heat! Make ahead: Prepare the meatballs and freeze before cooking for a quick meal later. Use parchment paper in the air fryer if desired, but ensure to poke holes to avoid steam buildup. Check for doneness using an instant-read thermometer for perfect meatballs every time.
